Terms and Conditions

Bookings: 

  • Please check carefully the dimensions of items you wish us to carry as we will not be responsible for any items that do not fit in the vehicle or your property. If the items do not fit in the vehicle, then we will charge the full amount for the job and the items will not be moved.
  • Jobs can be charge for in different way e.g. - per hour, per mile or by the day with prior agreement.
  • By accepting the quote, you are then bound by the terms and conditions of the company (Street-Smart Transport Ltd) and any legal action may be taken if any of these are broken.
  • After the first 30 minutes, after arrival, if no loading or unloading has commenced waiting time will be charged. This will be charged at the £50 per hour or part thereof at our discretion.
  • Customers must arrange parking at the address or obtain the correct permits/suspensions for loading or unloading.  The customer will be charged for the fines incurred. 
  • All goods must be packed and as close to the exits ready for when the vehicle arrives (this also saves you money on waiting time and hourly cost). Unfortunately, we do not offer a packing service and it is the customers responsibility to ensure the items are packed correctly for transport; however, we do use blankets, straps and edge protectors to ensure items do not move inside the van. We will not accept any liability for any damage to items that are incorrectly packaged.  
  • Loading and unloading is your responsibility. Our drivers may assist, at their discretion, if health and safety requirements are adhered to e.g. the items do not weigh more than 25kg (maximum safe carrying weight for one person).

We do not move or handle: 

  • Gardening and building waste materials as we do not have a waste carriers’ licence. Also, it helps to keep our vehicles clean for our clients.
  • Hazardous materials
  • Tobacco
  • Alcohol
  • Weapons, replica or decorative, deactivated or air powered 
  • Gold and precious metals
  • Jewellery
  • Irreplaceable, personal, and high value items
  • Dangerous and or illegal goods
  • Live and/or biological goods e.g. human or animal remains, ashes etc. 
  • Live animals e.g. fish, reptiles, insects, etc. 
  • Pathogens e.g. anything that can cause disease, viruses.

Our staff reserve the right to refuse any items that they deem unsuitable to carry even if they are not listed above. 

Payment: 

  • All major credit and debit cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay are accepted via a Sum Up terminal. We can also invoice for the job. Our payment terms are 14 days from date of invoice unless prior agreement has been made. 
  • Jobs completed that are unpaid- all goods remain the property of the carrier (Street-Smart Transport Ltd) until the payment has been made in full. If payment is not made within the arranged time scale, then we reserve the right to collect these items and store at your cost until payment is made in full. 

Cancellation: 

  • Cancellation - Time and resources are allocated to carry out your requirements. Therefore, a cancellation made within 24 hours will incur a two-hour charge. Prior to a full 24 hours’ notice will not incur a charge. 

Insurance: 

  • We are fully insured - Vehicle, Public Liability and Goods in Transit (up to the value of £15,000). Please note that any items above this value (£15,000) will not be covered and will be your responsibility. 

Damages:

  • Any damage to the vehicle during loading or unloading due to misuse of equipment (e.g. misuse of fork lifts etc) or negligence will be charge for. 

Staff Wellbeing and Safety: 

  • Our driver’s and staff will not tolerate abuse of any sort (verbal or physical). If this occurs, we reserve the right to refuse the job and you will be charged the full amount. We are here to help and will not stand for abuse at work. If necessary, Police maybe called and prosecutions will be pursued. 

Website: 

  • No one has the right to use, copy or download any of the contents of this site without prior agreement in writing by the company. 

Complaints Procedure:

  • All complaints must be made in writing and a response will be provided within 30 days of receiving the letter.  

Changes to Terms and Conditions: 

  • We reserve the right to make changes to any terms and conditions on this site at any time without notice, so please check regularly for updates.
